Before beginning their hunt, the Trandoshans prepared in their hunting lodge, which featured a wall covered entirely in Wookiee pelts. In season 3, episode 21 (“Padawan Lost”) Ahsoka, Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan, was abducted by Trandoshans and placed in their “game preserve,” where they hunted aliens for sport. Similarly, Star Wars: The Clone Wars suggested that Trandoshans hunt down Wookiees. Although this anthology is canon, it has several contradictions in its stories and is less well-known than other Star Wars movies and television shows. However, this does not necessarily verify that Trandoshans hunt Wookies. Due to this, From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back demonstrates Trandoshans’ hatred of Wookiees and pleasure in catching them. He later tried to capture Solo and Chewbacca but repeatedly lost them, growing to hate the pair. Initially, Bossk operated on the Wookiee homeworld, Kashyyyk, where he helped capture Wookiees who rebelled against the imperial conquest of their planet. “Tooth and Claw” explores Bossk’s activities while working under the Empire, which primarily dealt with hunting down Wookiees. One of these stories is “Tooth and Claw” by Michael Kogge, which centers on Bossk. However, this fact has been hinted at twice before in other Star Wars books and television shows.įrom a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back is an anthology containing 40 short stories that explore the experiences of background characters in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This serves as the first official confirmation in Star Wars canon that Trandoshans hunt Wookiees, viewing their pelts as valuable prizes. Notably, Strassi’s tribute is a Wookiee pelt. One of these officials is Dokk Strassi, the head of the Trandoshan family in Mos Espa and “protector” of many of its businesses. In The Book of Boba Fett episode 1, Fett receives tribute from local leaders in recognition of his new role as a crime lord on Tattoine. Related: Star Wars Admits Boba Fett Was Never As Cool As Fans Thought Bossk’s hatred of Wookiees, especially Solo’s co-pilot Chewbacca, may have contributed to the Empire’s decision to hire him to hunt down Solo. However, The Empire Strikes Back and other forms of Star Wars media show Bossk working for the Empire. In Star Wars Rebels, Bossk briefly worked with Ezra Bridger to collect a bounty and stop a corrupt Imperial Security officer. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he was a mentor to young Boba Fett, trying to help Fett avenge his father. Although he was initially introduced as a bounty hunter recruited to capture Han Solo in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, he has since appeared in many other Star Wars works. Bossk may be the most well-known Trandoshan in the Star Wars franchise.
